VANESSA VINCENT
MISS GAY MISSOURI AMERICA 1982
BIO:
Vanessa Vincent was the stage name of Daniel Flier. Made in 1956, crowned Miss Gay Missouri America in 1982 at the Plantation Dinner Theater. Flier, a native St. Louisan, was a household name in our community for decades. Hair dresser by day, and tireless champion for charities by night. His portfolio of accomplishments includes the founding of the St. Louis Effort for AIDS (EFA, now Vivent Health) and also the coordination of countless fundraisers. Vanessa was also a former Miss Gay St. Louis and Miss Gay Illinois America. Daniel remained heavily involved with MGMA pageantry and the Alumni Association for many years as a board member and promoter of the Miss Gay Metropolitan city preliminary prior to retiring from performing. In 2022, Flier celebrated his 40th MGMA anniversary. Months later, May 2022, communities across the state and the nation would be grieving with his loss to cancer. Rest In Peace, Vanessa Vincent.
