Kansas City native Ricky McRoy, better known as Sparkle Iman, captured the title of Miss Gay Missouri America 2008 on his fifth attempt at the Millennium Hotel in St. Louis. With elegant beauty and elaborate, high-energy talent productions Sparkle Iman proved early on she was a force to be reckoned with. "The year I stepped outside of my circle and listened to others who had the America experience was the year that I won," she said. "I was so excited to be crowned Miss Gay Missouri 2008, it was a dream come true for me. I encourage all that have a dream to never give up and be strong." By day, she works in property management and by night entertains on stage throughout Kansas City and St. Joseph, MO. Sparkle also captured the title of Miss Gay Kansas America in 2009 and competed in Miss Gay America 2018 as the first alternate of Miss Gay Mid America.
