ADRIA ANDREWS
MISS GAY MISSOURI AMERICA 2014
BIO:
Our 41st Miss Gay Missouri, Adria Andrews, grew up in a small town in Southeast MO and had always been a fan of the arts, music, theatre and movies. Adria became infatuated with female impersonation in 1997 when he attended his first drag show at Independence Place in Cape Girardeau, MO. Immediately he knew this was for him! Adria spent his early years helping out backstage as a dresser, back up dancer, luggage carrier or anything he could do to soak up knowledge of the art form. After relocating to St. Louis in 2001, he began catching shows at The Complex, Faces and Magnolias which reignited the desire to become involved in female impersonation. Then in 2005, he made the decision to hit the stage himself and began his formal performance career. In 2009, he decided to give pageantry a try so he entered (and won) his first pageant - Miss Metropolitan America. After attending Miss Gay Missouri that year and placing in the Top 10 - he was bitten by the pageant bug! This bug would continue to take him back to Miss Gay Missouri year after year and on his 5th attempt, what was once a dream came to life and Adria was crowned Miss Gay Missouri 2014! He would go on to make MGM fans very proud when he placed 4th alternate to Miss Gay America 2015 in Nashville, TN. A feat which only a few have managed to do as Miss Gay Missouri. During his reign, Adria spent time raising awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of MO and raised $3252 for the charity in memory of his late father. Adria is also a former Miss Gay St. Louis America, Miss Gay Illinois America and captured the title of Miss Gay Midwest America 2015. In 2016, Adria became St. Louis Queen of Pride. In the Spring of 2017, Adria captured the title of Miss Gay Missouri USofA and placed in the Top 12 of nationals.
