As I finally take a moment to reflect on the fact that I am - Akasha Royale - 49th Miss Gay Missouri America 💗
There are three words that will be reoccurring throughout my administration - Journey, Vision, and Feedback. These are the words that have been incredibly important during the past decade of my life. This full circle moment has a made me take stock of both the failures and successes that have encountered me along the way. As I look back, I’m thankful for every single struggle that has made me the stronger person I am today. I don’t think we celebrate surviving hardships enough. My initial focus for this administration has been on speaking with each of the candidates from this past pageant cycle. These are the people who have given the best feedback on the pageant’s strengths and opportunities for the next year. Each of these fine gentleman from across the state have given me not only their time, but they’re honest out look. I’m thankful to be a part of a group of individuals that can be so open minded with me. To each of you, congratulations on striving towards your dream. There are many that will delay their dream, much like myself, and many more that will never attempt it. My next focus will be on speaking with each of the promoters and potential promoters for the 2024 Pageant cycle. These often times unsung heros are the backbone of Miss Gay Missouri America’s success. Their investment in this legacy starts within their own communities. Each city provides a unique identity that builds into the brand of MGMA. As information is available I will be sharing preliminary dates. Finally, in my first 30 days I will build the first ever Cabinet. This concept has been apart of my initial plans to expand the reach of Missouri America and offer moments of intersectionality between other pageant systems. The people selected will assist in bringing to life the agenda I have for the 2024 pageant season. Each year the Symbol of Excellence has a team of people that work to bring their vision to life, this time I want the state to know the people that are hard at work. When the time comes we will launch our website detailing the mission, events, and preliminaries that are to come. In a break from tradition, the job of representing Excellence will be expanded to the alternates - both Summer Knight (“Madame Vice President”) and Veronika Versace (“Speaker of the House”) have agreed to be a united front in this next year. With the upheaval of injustice and ignorance in our state the time to unify is even more necessary. We will be collaborating on events and appearances across the state. In closing, I simply thank you Missouri. This moment in my life is one of the highest honors. I am truly humbled by the outpouring of love and admiration, excitement and joy, and pure love. I look forward to working hard for our state and our system. May the 50th Anniversary of Miss Gay Missouri America be one for the history books. Akasha Royale 49th Miss Gay Missouri America 💗
